The Mystique Community Ice Center opened in the fall of 2010 welcoming the return of the Dubuque Fighting Saints to the USHL. The arena seats 3,079, with a capacity of close to 3,500. In game 4 of the 2011 Clark Cup Championship, the Mystique Community Ice Center hosted a record 3,480 fans, the largest crowd to ever see a hockey game in Dubuque. The arena is owned by the city of Dubuque. Funding for the $7 million facility comes from a public and private partnership including a $1.1 million contribution from the Dubuque Racing Association (Mystique Casino); $3.3 million from Northern Lights Hockey, LLC—owners of the Fighting Saints—and other individual and corporate donors throughout Dubuque. The 66,000-square-foot arena features a hockey specific seating configuration that includes 11 luxury suites and private locker room facilities that include a weight room with a lounge area.
