DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Dubuque Fighting Saints are proud to announce the hiring of Jack Milewski as the next “Voice of the Saints.” Milewski will serve as the Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations for the team, become the liaison between the organization and its media partners, as well be the lead voice of Fighting Saints hockey on the radio home of the Saints, Dubuque’s Super Hits 106.1 FM.
“I am thrilled to accept the position with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. I want to first and foremost thank Nick Shane, Katie Kenne, Casey Weitz, and the rest of the Fighting Saints organization for giving me this amazing opportunity,” Milewski said. “I’d also like to thank Jordan Kuhns and Zack Fisch for helping out over the past couple of months and giving me invaluable advice and guidance.”
Milewski takes the over the broadcasting and media relations duties from Kuhns, who departed the Fighting Saints to join the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL after three seasons.
“Jack has a dynamite voice, a wonderful presence on air, and is someone that fans will absolutely rally around during each and every game,” Kuhns said. “The Saints tradition of excellence will continue with him at the helm of the team’s multimedia effort. No question.”
Milewski was a regular during his time as a student at Penn State University as a member of many broadcasts, including as a broadcaster of Penn State hockey, volleyball, softball and baseball through the Big Ten Network and Student U website on the TV side, and honed his craft on the radio side as sports director and as a broadcaster on Penn State’s prestigious student radio program, CommRadio. His experience there saw him serve in senior management that produced more than 900 hours of play-by-play coverage. Milewski manned the microphone for Penn State hockey, football, baseball, basketball, volleyball and soccer, including the 2017 Rose Bowl, and the 2017 Fiesta Bowl.
Milewski graduated from Penn State in 2018 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, and a minor in Spanish. His time as a student saw him shoot, write, and edit stories for the Centre County Report, an Emmy award-winning student produced newscast, and co-produce an Emmy-nominated feature length documentary on the popularity of the NFL in London through the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism.
“I am excited to get started and be part of such a storied organization and such a proud Dubuque community. This is a dream come true for me and I look forward to beginning this chapter of my life with the Fighting Saints.”
Milewski will make his debut on Friday, September 14, as the Saints take on the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders to begin the preseason at The Stable. Catch all of the action on the home of the Saints, Dubuque’s Super Hits 106.1 FM at 7:05 p.m.
