October 14. The Fighting Saints earn their first win of the season with a 1-0 win over Waterloo. This is the first career USHL win as head coach of the Fighting Saints for Oliver David. Jaxon Castor also gets the first shutout of the season for the Saints.
October 14. The #SteeverStreak starts. Alex Steeves started his 10-game point streak that eventually ended on November 24th. During the streak, Steeves scored 6 goals and 8 assists.
October 28. Alex Steeves scores the Fighting Saints' first hat trick of the season in a 6-3 win over Central Illinois.
November 11. Adam Tisdale scores his first three goals of the season for a hat trick, the Saints second of the season, against the Central Illinois Flying Aces..
November 25. Adam Tisdale scores his fourth, fifth, and sixth goals of the season for his second hat trick of the season.
December 2. Captain Cole Guttman plays his eventual last game for the Fighting Saints after getting injured. Guttman finished his Fighting Saints career as one of the greatest Saints to play, having scored 66 points in 75 games.
December 8. The Fighting Saints, after surrendering the first goal, score 7 unanswered goals the defeat the Madison Capitols. Six different layers scored goals for the Saints in an individual game season-high.
December 27. The Fighting Saints win in a shootout against Green Bay. This would end up being the only game they would win in a shootout. The game winning goal in shootout was scored by rookie Logan Pietila.
December 30. Jaxon Castor plays his last game as a Fighting Saint. Castor was a three-year player for the Saints and ended his Saints career with the most wins and games played of any Saints goalie since 2010.
January 6. After leading 3-0 and then giving up 3 unanswered goals, Dalton Hunter nets the game winner against Muskegon with only 19 seconds left in the game.
January 19 & 20. Cole Weaver and James Durham post back to back shutouts for the Fighting Saints. Both shutouts were the first in the USHL for both goaltenders.
February 18. After surrendering the game tying goal with less than five minutes left in the third period in Lincoln, Quinn Preston flies away just 18 seconds into overtime to net the game winning goal.
February 24. Chayse Primeau nets all three goals for the Saints to lead them to a 3-2 victory over Sioux Falls, his first career hat trick.
March 23. After losing six games in a row and needing a jolt, Quinn Preston shows up as the hero yet again. After trailing 2-0 late in the game Preston got the Saints on the board with only 3:43 left in the game. Moments later, Tyce Thompson netted the game-tying goal to force overtime. Just 25 seconds into overtime, Preston netted the game-winning goal for a much needed win against Waterloo.
April 7. The Dubuque Fighting Saints clinch their playoff berth for an unheralded eighth consecutive season. After falling to Team USA in overtime, the Saints gained the necessary one point to clinch a spot in the 2018 Clark Cup Playoffs.
April 17. The Fighting Saints defeat the Green Bay Gamblers 5-1 to sweep them in Green Bay in a best of three series to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. This was the eighth straight season the Saints won a playoff series.
April 24. Just a week later, the Saints season ends in heartbreak after being swept in three games by the Youngstown Phantoms.
May 1. Four Fighting Saints players received USHL honors on this day. Quinn Preston was named to the All-USHL Third team, While Alex Steeves was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year while also being named to the USHL All-Academic Team with Aidan Fulp and Jacob Semik.
