Zack Fisch to call NHL game, new #SolowStreak emerges

-Former Voice of the Fighting Saints Zack Fisch will call all of the action for the Washington Capitals of the NHL on February 20, 2018, when their regular broadcaster, John Walton, will be doing the play-by-play for women's hockey at the 2018 Winter Olympics for NBC. Fisch served as the broadcaster in Dubuque for the Fighting Saints from 2012 until 2015, and is currently the broadcaster for the Hershey Bears of the AHL.

-Former Fighting Saints forward Jacob Hamacher scored his first collegiate goal, a power play tally, over the past weekend in a 5-3 win for the RIT Tigers over Robert Morris University.

-Jim Montgomery's Denver Pioneers have retaken the #1 ranking in the country after Denver swept top-ranked St. Cloud State over the weekend. The Pioneers defeated the Huskies 4-2 and 5-2 to move to 6-2-2 on the season.

-Dylan Gambrell played a significant role for Denver, scoring a goal and three assists to aid the Pioneers to their weekend sweep. Gambrell is tied for seventh in the country with 16 points on the season.

-Zach Solow of the Northeastern Huskies has six assists in his last three games to start another #SolowStreak. Solow shares the national scoring lead for freshman along with fellow USHL alum Mitch Lewandowski of Michigan State, with 13 points. Northeastern is ranked #13 in the country.

-Hunter Miska returned to the Tuscon Roadrunners after a short stint with the Arizona Coyotes, and he leads the AHL in rookie wins with five wins.

-Jason Lammers kept the Niagara Purple Eagles rolling with a split series over the weekend with top-ranked Army. The Purple Eagles have received votes in the national rankings for the second week in a row. They sit second in the Atlantic Hockey Conference with 11 points, just behind Army.
