GREEN BAY, Wis. – Affiliate forward Cole Guttman announced via Twitter his verbal commitment to St. Cloud State University today to join the Huskies program at a later date.
Guttman, a native of Northridge, Calif., joined the Fighting Saints for two games earlier this season, and tallied an assist during that time.
“I’m really excited for the opportunity,” Guttman said. “I found the perfect school for me. I love the coaching staff, I love the area, and it’s the perfect fit for me in the future.”
Guttman also spent time with the Team USA National Team Development Program’s Under-17 squad earlier this season. Prior to that, he dominated as a member of the Los Angeles Jr. Kings program, notching 48 points in 30 games.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for Cole to go to a school with a rich history, and one that has been very successful of late,” head coach/GM Jason Lammers said. “We’re excited to have a chance to coach him and to give him a chance to achieve his dreams.”
The 17-year-old forward was a sixth-round pick of the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the 2015 USHL Phase I Draft.
