DUBUQUE, IA-USA Hockey unveiled the roster for the 2014 World Junior A Challenge, and three Dubuque Fighting Saints were selected to represent the stars and stripes. Dylan Gambrell, Seamus Malone and Blake Hillman were all selected to the team that is made up of 21 players from the United States Hockey League. The three Fighting Saints will compete in the tournament, held Dec. 14-20, in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. The U.S. has won five of the last six tournaments (2008-10, 2012-13).

Gambrell, a University of Denver commit, is in his third season with Dubuque and is tied for the team lead this year with 13 points. The Bonney Lake, WA native has 6 goals and 7 assists in 12 games this year, and is one of Dubuque's alternate captains. He helped Dubuque to a Clark Cup in 2012-2013.

Hillman, an Elk River, MN native, is in his second year with Dubuque. The 6-foot-1 defenseman has 3 points through the first 12 games on the year. He is committed to the University of Denver.

Malone, a Naperville, IL native, was a member of the U.S. squad that won the 2013 World Junior A Challenge. The third year Fighting Saint is no stranger to international competition, and has posted 11 points this year. Malone, a Wisconsin commit, has 4 goals and 7 assists this season after leading Dubuque in scoring last year with 23 goals and 23 assists. He is one of the Fighting Saints alternate captains this year and was a member of Dubuque's 2012-2013 Clark Cup Championship team.

All 21 players on the roster are committed to play hockey at NCAA Division I programs following their USHL career.

In addition to entire roster of USHL players, the coaching staff is also from the USHL.  Jay Varady, head coach of the Sioux City Musketeers, was named coach for the U.S. Select Team last month, joined by Brian Kaufman, head coach of the Omaha Lancers, and Keith Paulsen, associate head coach of the Madison Capitols.
