DUBUQUE, Iowa--The Dubuque Fighting Saints made a trade today, acquiring forward Trey Dodd from the Austin Bruins of the NAHL for future considerations. Dodd has joined the team and is eligible to play this weekend. He will wear #16 for the Fighting Saints.
Dodd fills a need at forward for the Fighting Saints. With a handful of players out with injuries for the time being, the club brought in Dodd, a St. Louis, MO native who stands at 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds.
Dodd has risen through the ranks of junior hockey over the past several years, starting with the St. Louis Jr. Blues of the NA3HL in 2012-2013. In only 40 games, Dodd put up 30 points, including 12 goals and 18 assists. He was a +28 with the Jr. Blues.
In 2013-2014, Dodd played for Austin of the NAHL, scoring 11 goals and 7 assists for 18 points in 45 games for Austin. This season with the Bruins he was pointless in two games.
Dodd is a former draft pick of the Fargo Force. He was selected in the 3rd Round of the USHL Draft this past summer.
Dubuque visits Waterloo on Friday before returning home for Opening Night presented by American Trust on Saturday.
