Dubuque's Spenser Young played in the All-American Prospects Game on September 25 in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y.—Dubuque's Spenser Young got ready for the start of the USHL season by competing against the best young American players on a grand stage. Young, a defenseman in his first season in Dubuque, represented the club at the third annual CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game in Buffalo, New York. Young was a member of Team Olczyk, coached by former NHL player, USHL dad and current broadcaster Eddie Olczyk.

Team Grier, coached by former Buffalo Sabres star Mike Grier, topped Team Olczyk, 6-3, thanks to a third period outburst. Jack Eichel, an alumni of Team USA in the USHL, received Player of the Game honors with the game-winning goal plus an assist, while his linemate, Jeremy Bracco, a member of Team USA U-18 in the USHL had two goals.

Dubuque has been well represented in the the event in years past. Last year, Seamus Malone, Keegan Ford and Shane Eiserman played in the game.
