DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Dubuque Fighting Saints are proud to announce the addition of Robert Miller as the organization’s President of Business Operations. Miller joins the team with over 15 years of sports sales and service, and a proven track record of increasing organizational revenue, season ticket sales, and corporate sales.
“I am extremely happy that I have the opportunity to take on the role of President of Business Operations for the Dubuque Fighting Saints. During my visit to a Fighting Saints home game, the passion and support this franchise receives from the Dubuque community was evident,” Miller said. “I knew right away that there was something special about this organization and to have the chance to join this hockey family was one that I could not pass up.”

Miller joins the team from the Dallas Wings of the WNBA, and the Panther City Lacrosse Club of the NLL. As the senior vice president of sales and service, he led the sales department to be one of the best in the entire WNBA. The team finished first overall in new sales, and second overall in new revenue for both the 2018 and 2019 seasons. The organization was the only in the league to have over 1,100 new season tickets in a single season other than a brand-new franchise.
The Wings’ rise to prominence was evident with a strong average season ticket renewal percentage near 85% over the past three seasons, and an even stronger showing with corporate sales in 2019 as the Partnership Franchise of the Year. The Wings renewed 100% of corporate accounts and brought in further corporate sponsorship revenue.

Strong ticket sales have been the name of the game across Miller’s entire career.
As director of ticket sales at Texas Motor Speedway, Miller created an outbound sales and service staff, and it paid off. The speedway increased its season ticket base, averaged an 83% renewal rate, and strong corporate sales through the use of the Victory Lane Club, which saw an attendance redemption rate of 90%.
At the University of South Florida, as GM of ticket sales, his high-energy staff sold 4,500 season tickets and over 10,000 group tickets for the football program, and over 2,000 men’s basketball season tickets, an increase of over 1,000 from its previous mark. His direction brought in over one million dollars in revenue in a fourth-month span.
Miller is no stranger to the game of hockey. He served as the director of season sales for the Florida Panthers. New business boomed to an increase of over 30% from the previous season, which accounted for nearly a one million dollar increase.
Miller’s career began with the New Orleans Hornets of the NBA, where he worked up from a season ticket sales representative to the group sales manager. As the top-selling account executive, he then became a season ticket sales and service manager, and led the department to a record 6,000 new full season tickets in 2008.
Miller is a 2003 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, with a degree in business management. He is married to Joanna, his wife of 12 years, and has two sons, Michael and Cole.
