CHICAGO — Dubuque Fighting Saints defenseman Henry Thrun has been named USHL Defenseman of the Week. The Harvard product, and Anaheim Ducks draft pick, scored five points (two goals, three assists) in a weekend in which the Fighting Saints picked up five out of a possible six standings points in their Clark Cup Playoffs push.
Thrun was also a positive on the ice as a plus-4 on the weekend, and scored on two of his three shots on goal. The Southborough, Massachusetts native has scored 55 points in 75 games against USHL competition, dating back to his time with Team USA’s National Team Development Program. He is coming off of a World Junior Championship gold medal, won by the Americans back in January.
Thrun has scored 12 points in 13 games as a member of the Fighting Saints organization. He is currently riding a four-game point streak (three goals, five assists).
