Saints Second Year Defenseman Continues To Grow

Evan Stella announced his commitment to American International College yesterday, adding another college commit to Dubuque’s roster this season. Stella is in his second season with Dubuque and has grown considerably at the position. Including last season, Stella has played 49 career USHL games.

“I am very excited to be able to play college hockey for AIC,” said Stella.

Last season he entered Dubuque a quarter of the way through the season and immediately helped bolster a strong defensive corp. This season he has added a bit of an offensive touch to his game, contributing two goals and two assists so far.

“We have benefited from Evan’s consistency since his arrival last season,” said head coach Oliver David. “He has been a quiet leader- his actions set the example around here- and I’m sure he  will continue in the same fashion, establishing himself within the makeup of AIC’s D-core in his time there.”

Stella has already eclipsed his point total from last season and will look to continue his strong season when the Saints take on Green Bay this weekend.
