Over the next two weeks, we will be putting a spotlight on each and every member of the 2020 Fighting Saints Training Camp roster. The players are set to report to Dubuque by the beginning of October with the USHL season slated to start November 6th. Dubuque returns 10 players from last year’s team, adds two from the NCAA ranks and brings in seven from their affiliate list last year. According to head coach Oliver David, this will be a very young, but talented team. This week we will be profiling Jake Goldowski.
Jake Goldowski 2019-20 Stats: 62 GP, 14G, 19A, 33P (Saginaw Spirit)
A veteran with over 200 games of junior hockey experience, Goldowski adds more experience for Dubuque from outside the USHL. The big forward spent the last three seasons with the Saginaw Spirit in the Ontario Hockey League.
Goldowski has also spent time in the USHL. Back in 2016-17 and briefly during the 2017-18 season, he was a member of the NTDP, recording 10 points in 39 games.
With the Spirit, Goldowski fit in nicely and was a model of consistency the past three seasons. His point total rose each of the three seasons. His first year he had 21 points, next 26 and last season a career high in the OHL with 33 in 62 games.
Goldowski is 6’3’’ and over 200 pounds, making him a strong, power forward that the Saints will be excited to have. Last season the one area Dubuque might have been lacking in was overall team size. Though that didn’t hurt their production, a player like Goldowski is sure to help no matter what.
The 20 year-old is a Thornhurst, Pennsylvania native.
