DUBUQUE, Iowa — Braden Doyle was named Defenseman of the Week by the USHL for the second week in a row as the Saints won both games against the Green Bay Gamblers. Doyle garners weekly honors for the second time this season and fourth overall for the Fighting Saints as Erik Portillo and Aidan McCarthy have also grabbed weekly honors.
Doyle had one goal and two assists over the weekend as he scored a goal and assisted on the game winner Friday before adding another power play point on Saturday in a 7-2 win. Doyle currently leads Dubuque and ranks third in the USHL with 17 points this season. He is third in goals (5) and fifth in assists (12). Doyle also ranks tied for first in power play goals (3) and sits second in the league in power play points (9) amongst defensemen.
Right now, Doyle is riding a five-game point streak. He has four goals over the last four games for the Saints who sit comfortably in third place in the Eastern Conference and who entered the break at 18-3-1. Doyle is a fifth-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings and a Boston University commit in his first full season in the USHL.
