-Former head coaches showed up all over the USCHO Division I Men's Hockey Poll this week with the University of Denver at #1, the University of North Dakota at #5, and Niagara University at #20. All of these schools have one thing in common, as that they all have a former Fighting Saints head coach on their staff.
-Jim Montgomery, head coach at Denver, kept the Pioneers at #1 in the rankings with a sweep of the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs over the weekend.
-Matt Shaw, assistant coach at UND, helped the Fighting Hawks to a weekend sweep of Western Michigan and a one-spot improvement in the rankings to #5.
-In an incredible first season for Jason Lammers, Niagara University is ranked in the USCHO Division I Men's Hockey Poll for the first time since 2013. The Purple Eagles earned their ranking after sweeping Air Force over the weekend for the first time since February of 2005.
-Congratulations to Zemgus Girgensons, who played in his 300th NHL game for the Buffalo Sabres against the Pittsburgh Penguins this past week. Girgensons has notched 89 points, and played in the 2015 NHL All-Star Game.
-Former Saint Seamus Malone was named the Big Ten Third Star of the Week during the week of November 28 after scoring four points against Mercyhurst. It is Malone's second honor after being named first star earlier this year.
-Johnny Gaudreau has continued his stellar season, as he ranks third in the NHL with 36 points.
