STATS

1. Tonight is the second game in three nights for the Fighting Saints, coming off of the Thanksgiving Day break. The Saints defeated the Madison Capitols 3-2 on a late goal by Josh Maniscalco just a week ago. This is the first time the Saints are on the road to face Madison this season.

2. Neither of these two teams are particularly proficient during one-goal games, though for the Fighting Saints, 8 of their 13 games up until this point have been of that variety. The Saints are 2-3-3 in one-goal games, while Madison is 2-4-1 in that situation.

3. The Fighting Saints' power play, while it is top-five in the league, needs to be sharp against an aggressive Madison penalty kill. The Caps lead the league in shorthanded goals (4), and they have been all scored by different scorers.

4. Tonight is a big night for the penalty kill, too. Dubuque's PK has allowed a power play goal against in five consecutive games. Is this the night where that tide is stemmed?

5. This game has standings implications. These two teams are tied, even as the Saints have a game in hand. More importantly, with a win tonight, and all things remain equal across the board, Dubuque would rise to fourth place in the Eastern Conference. The margin of error early in the season is slim.
