DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Dubuque Fighting Saints have added forward Dalton Hunter (Greensburg, Pa./Mercyhurst University) to the active roster, General Manager Kalle Larsson announced today. He will join the team immediately.
Hunter, 20, spent most of last season with the Johnstown Tomahawks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), and posted 30 goals and 31 assists in 58 games, including an outstanding +35 mark.
“Dalton adds size to our group of forwards, and he’s a player that likes to shoot the puck,” Larsson said. “This is his fourth season of junior hockey, and we believe his experience will help our team.”
“I was really excited when I got the call from Kalle and just got excited about all of history here, and all of the players in the NHL,” Hunter said. “I’m just really excited to become a Saint.”
Standing at 6’3”, he is tied for the tallest player on the Saints’ active roster, and possesses bulk at 203 pounds.
“I’m a power forward with some skill that can shoot the puck really well, play the body, work in the areas below the dots and down low in the offensive zone,” Hunter said of his game.
Hunter occupies the fourth and final overager spot on the Fighting Saints’ roster, joining Quinn Preston, Chayse Primeau and Jaxon Castor in that category.
