DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Dubuque Fighting Saints have acquired a 2018 Phase II 7th round pick from the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in exchange for defenseman Kyle Looft (Mankato, Minn.).
Looft, a 14th round pick of the Saints in the 2017 Phase II Draft, saw time in four official USHL preseason games, and scored a goal in the final preseason game against the Youngstown Phantoms on Saturday, September 30.
“We wish Kyle nothing but the best in Cedar Rapids,” said general manager Kalle Larsson. “He was a very liked player and person in Dubuque during his time with us.”
Looft, 19, joined the Fighting Saints’ preseason roster from Mankato West High School in Minnesota, where he notched 122 points in 121 games, along with 109 penalty minutes.
The Fighting Saints take to the ice for the first regular season game, Opening Night, presented by American Trust on Friday, October 6 at 7:05 p.m. For tickets, call the box office at 563.583.6880, or by going to DubuqueFightingSaints.com.
