DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Dubuque Fighting Saints hosted #Saint4Life Night on Friday, December 16, and as a result of the night, between the 50/50 raffle, the auctioning of an alternate jersey, donations from corporate partners, and other cash donations received that night, $6,458 was raised towards defenseman Andrew Kerr’s recovery fund. In addition to the monetary total, Kwik Stop, Dairy Queen and Fazoli’s also donated $1,000 in gas cards to the Kerr family.
“Our fans continue to amaze me. To see the support from everyone leading up to this event and to be able to welcome Andrew back home was the perfect way to start off the holiday break,” said Katie Kenne, the Saints’ vice president of business operations. “Thank you to all of those who volunteered their time, donated, and made the welcome home for the Kerr family a huge success.”
Kerr suffered a serious neck injury during an offseason swimming accident in Minnesota, and has been working relentlessly to work his way back to a normal life. Thanks to rehabilitation efforts at the top facility in the nation, Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado, he can walk again, and can return to that normal life he has been fighting for.
