Saints receive pair of draft picks in Friday deal

DUBUQUE, Iowa — Dubuque Fighting Saints head coach/GM Jason Lammers has officially announced the completion of a trade with the Madison Capitols on Friday. Defenseman Keegan Ford has been traded to the Capitols in exchange for a 2017 Phase II 5th round draft selection, and a 2017 Phase I 7th round draft selection.

“Keegan has been an important part of the Fighting Saints for the last several seasons, and is someone who helped bring the Clark Cup right here to Dubuque,” Lammers said. “We wish Keegan the best in his transition to Madison, and in his future endeavors.”

Ford played 197 games for the Fighting Saints, where he scored 14 goals and added 72 assists. He was the team’s leading scorer in the 2016 Clark Cup playoff run with five goals and seven assists. Ford also served as team captain for the entire 2015–16 season.
