DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Dubuque Fighting Saints have acquired goaltender Evan Fear (Winnetka, Ill.) from the Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League, according to head coach/GM Jason Lammers. Fear, 17, will join the team immediately and will be available to play in Wednesday's game against the Bloomington Thunder.
“We’re excited about Evan joining our team,” Lammers said. “He really caught our eye in camp this summer and has had a good start to his season. We think that he’ll add to his game and develop and grow under the tutelage of [goalie coach] Matt Millar.”
Through 12 games this season in Springfield, Fear has a record of 6-4-0 in 12 appearances, with a 2.67 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. He has won his last four starts to the tune of a .956 save percentage, and a 1.50 goals-against average.
As a corresponding move, Mike Robinson has been assigned to the Springfield Jr. Blues.
